Micro-Melt Maxamet from Carpenter Technology is an exceptional tool steel designed specifically for hot rolling steel billets. Spyderco is considered a pioneer in the use of this sophisticated material as a blade of steel. Another member of the elite Maxamet family is Sage 5 Lightweight. It showcases this incredibly tough and ultra-tough material in its fully ground flat blade and houses it in a lightweight, bi-directional textured handle. All other features match those of the standard version of this model, such as skeletonized stainless steel liners, a heavy-duty compression lock, gray FRN non-slip scales on the handle, and a (tip-up) clamp.
