The gas mask is designed to protect the face and respiratory tract against NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) hazards. It is equipped with a wide panoramic visor and EN 148-1 side threads, which allow the installation of NATO standard filters. Their use allows the wearer to isolate himself from airborne hazards in the location.
The OM-2020 mask has two holes for the mounting of filter cartridges, with 40 mm threads conforming to NATO standard STANAG 4155 / EN148-1. A cartridge can be threaded on the selected side and the opposite port can be sealed, allowing both right- and left-handed use. It is also possible to mount two cartridges to enhance performance and extend the protection time.
The mask is made of vulcanized bromobutyl rubber or polyisobutylene. It offers maximum protection against TIC (toxic industrial toxicants) and CWA (chemical warfare agents). Visibility is provided by a panoramic polycarbonate visor, resistant to scratches, chemical stains and splashes of solids.
The high flexibility of the mask allows for easy application, a good fit on the face and facilitates breathing so that stale air does not accumulate inside. The high-performance sound chamber allows clear, distortion-free conversations with at least 95% clarity. The mask is certified for Class III protection according to European standard EN 136:1998.
For securing the mask to the head, there are 6 adjustable straps with buckles and a mesh panel. These allow the mask to be stretched both vertically and laterally, ensuring a correct fit. Thanks to the multiple adjustment possibilities, the mask is a universal size, suitable for all but very small adult face shapes and sizes.
The OM-2020 mask has been developed for compatibility with tactical equipment such as ballistic helmets and firearm collimators. It is an excellent addition to a set of military equipment, a means of protection in working environments or a precaution in the event of a disaster. The mask is suitable for long-term storage with the appropriate conditions specified in the instructions for use.
